Specialist urology, proven experience

I am a Consultant Urologist at Spire Nottingham Hospital, The Park Hospital, Balance Health Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, as well as an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham.

I specialise in prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment — including high-resolution 3T prostate MRI, transperineal template-guided biopsy, robotic prostatectomy using the da Vinci™ Surgical System, and hydrogel spacer and fiducial placement for radiotherapy. I also treat kidney cancer, pelviureteric junction obstruction, and benign prostate enlargement, alongside men's health concerns including erectile dysfunction and testosterone deficiency.

To date I have performed over 1,000 robotic prostatectomy and 250 robotic kidney surgery cases.

Training & recognition

Award-winning training & fellowship expertise

I graduated with First-Class Honours from Nottingham University Medical School in 1998, followed by comprehensive urology training, a research doctorate focused on the molecular basis of prostate cancer, and two years of specialised fellowship training in laparoscopic and robotic surgery — including a twelve-month placement at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia.

During the final phase of my training I was awarded the Keith Yeates Gold Medal by the Royal College of Surgeons in recognition of exceptional performance in the FRCS(Urol) examinations.
